In this guide I will take you by the hand and guide you through, step by step, world by world and give you my personal opinion about it.
Because I personally love learning via video, I also include the best Youtube video I could find with the right explanation of it.
After that I will test your new knowledge about web1.0, web2.0 and web3.0! So pay close attention now!
Let's start with the video!
“An initial overview of what the internet was”
The internet was mostly read-only and static pages.
The users were consumers.
Interactivity of the internet, we got information from the pages but also the internet got information from us. They made more money from it and sell it to advertisers.
We willingly gave up our digitally privacy via for example Facebook. They sorted data via information you gave them. Like likes and how much you watched a video. One centralized data has an all knowing algorithm which collects your data to show you relevant ads. Like when you speak or search about birds, you suddenly see ads on your Facebook, Instagram and more about birds.
You are the product of web 2.0
Probably utilizing blockchain technology and the tools of decentralization. Your post couldn’t get taken down because it is shared between many computers. It gives back freedom and battles censorship.
It will be run by a DAO (Explained in my from A-Z lingo here).
You can use this with your digital identity. It doesn’t need to be linked to your real identity.
It is not one big idea run by a foundation. Web 3 is a big concept with a lot of ideas. It’s not owned by anyone or any company.
You are the owner of your content.
So let's put you to the test!
